Dr. Satish Kumar is the Energy Efficiency Ambassador and Vice President at Schneider Electric India Pvt. Ltd. He is responsible for integrating energy efficiency and sustainability in the overall business strategy of Schneider Electrical India Pvt. Ltd. Prior to this, he was heading the USAID funded ECO-III Project - a bilateral initiative between the US and India Government - where he managed one of the largest energy efficiency projects in India for more than four years. He worked as a Technical Advisor to the Bureau of Energy Efficiency and Govt. of Gujarat and Punjab and led a team consisting of Indian and International companies and consultants. Before moving back to India, he was a Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) where he worked on programs of US Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency, and California Utilities for more than 11 years. He has a B. Arch. from IIT, Roorkee and a Ph.D. in Building Science from Carnegie Mellon University. He is an adjunct faculty member at IIM Ahmedabad, serves on the Board of Studies for Faculty of Design, CEPT University, Global Buildings Performance Networks (GBPN) Advisory Group, and on the various technical committees of the International Standards Organization (ISO), Bureau of Indian Standards and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency. He is a co-founder of Efficiency Valuation Organization and Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy and serves on their board. He is the author of more than 50 journal papers, book chapters, and conference papers. He is a LEED AP (Building Construction and Design), Certified Energy Manager and Certified Measurement and Verification Professional.
