Hongyou Lu is a Senior Research Associate of the China Energy Group in the Energy Analysis and Environmental Impacts Department of the Environmental Technologies Area of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Hongyou conducts research and analysis in the area of industrial energy efficiency through thermal energy modeling, policy assessments, and data analysis. Her recent work focused on analyzing the technical and economic potential of industrial waste heat in energy-intensive sectors and advanced industrial case studies for the Reinventing Fire: China project. In addition, she provided technical assistance to energy assessments and training workshop related to process heating system and steam system. Hongyou is a U.S. Department of Energy Qualified Specialist of the Process Heating Assessment and Survey Tool. Hongyou has a MA in East Asian Studies from Stanford University, Masters of Public Policy and Master of Science in Energy and Resources Group from the University of California, Berkeley. Hongyou graduated from Peking University with a BA degree in History.
