Subcontracting at LBNL: New Close-out Process and Tips for Faster Subcontract Processing

July 17, 2012 - 12:00pm
Seminar Host/Point of Contact:

Dianne Yoder will host a presentation on the new close-out process for subcontracts and offer tips for getting your subcontract issued faster. The biggest delay in issuing a subcontract comes when the procurement representative has to follow-up with a vendor to obtain additional costing information or associated pricing details (eg: information on expected travel). When and why is this additional information needed? Dianne will share these details and other tips so your requests will sail through procurement. The presentation will cover the following questions: • How will the new closeout process affect the PI/Technical Representative? • What are the benefits of the new closeout process? • What are the main factors that delay the buyers’ ability to issue a subcontract? • What costing information is needed when I want to subcontract to a university or non-profit? • What costing information is needed if I want to subcontract to a for-profit company? • What are other ways to get my subcontract issued faster?
