Wildland Fire Safety at LBNL

August 24, 2004 - 12:00pm
Bldg. 90

Did you know there are two different plans for wildland fire evacuations from LBNL?  In an extreme emergency we could be required to evacuate on-foot, and won't be allowed to take our vehicles.  Do you know where to to find emergency public transportation in Berkeley after a wildland fire ”pedestrian evacuation” from the Lab?  Have you wondered about landscaping changes at the Lab, why some trees have been removed, or why we sometimes see herds of goats roaming around?  Learn the answers at this special two-part seminar sponsored by the Bldg. 90 Emergency Team. A short video with footage from the Berkeley hills fire will be shown, and our two guest speakers will each make a short presentation and answer questions from the audience.  Refreshments will be provided.
