The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's Working Group III, addressing the mitigation of climate change, has issued an executive summary of its Fifth Assessment report. The report updates policymakers on the technical and socio-economic aspects of climate change, including technologies and policies that can reduce impacts.
According to its website, "The IPCC Working Group III assesses all relevant options for mitigating climate change through limiting or preventing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing activities that remove them from the atmosphere."
A number of researchers in the Environmental Energy Technologies Division (EETD) of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) have lent their expertise to the writing, editing and review of this report:
James McMahon, former head of EETD's Energy Analysis Department, now an independent consultant, also participated as a Lead Author in Chapter 12, Human Settlements, Infrastructure and Spatial Planning.
