Federal Aggregated Solar Procurement Pilot: GreenGov Spotlight Communities Webinar, October 1

September 26, 2013

October 1, 2013

10:00 to 11:30 AM

Learn how the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, General Services Administration, Forest Service, Department of Energy Federal Energy Management Program, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and U.S. Coast Guard are working together to purchase renewable energy produced from solar panels on rooftops, ground-mount locations, and/or carports at their facilities. This renewable energy procurement project in Northern California brings together multiple federal agencies to demonstrate that combined procurement offers economies of scale, resulting in lower electricity bills for individual sites, and increased renewable energy production. The project also attempts to reduce internal agency overhead costs by sharing procurement and project management resources and is structured to be replicable across the nation.
