Shifting fossil fuel uses to electricity and de-carbonizing electricity generation will decrease the use of non-renewable resources and create the possibility that more human beings will have easier access to sufficient water and energy. We will try to share different aspects of this problem: energy efficiency and electrotechnologies (heat pumps, electric vehicles,...) , the potential impact of information technology for the citizen, for the distribution grid ( the "Smart Grid"), for the transmission grid, and the electrical system with the increase of dispersed energy sources.
