Xudong (Don) Yang is Chang-Jiang Professor in the Department of Building Science, Tsinghua University, China. He received his Ph.D. in Building Technology from MIT in 1999. He was a tenured associate professor in the U.S.A. before returning to Tsinghua University in 2006. His research aims at energy conservation technologies and environmental protection in built environment system. Dr. Yang is a co-author of the Technical Assessment Guide of Chinese Eco-Residential Buildings, the first green building assessment guide in China. Dr Yangs research efforts on building environmental systems are focused on simulating pollutant emission and transport using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique, and developing advanced technologies for air pollution prevention and control.  Dr. Yang received the Special Emphasis Research Career Award (SERCA) from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the New Investigator Award from the ASHRAE in 2000. He is present secretary of ASHRAE TC 4.3 Ventilation Requirement and Infiltration. He has published more than 30 papers in various international journals and is an Editorial Board member of the Journal of the IEST.
