Thomas E. McKone is a Senior Staff Scientist and Acting Head of the Indoor Environment Department at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and an Adjunct Professor and researcher with the School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley. His research interests include the development, use, and evaluation of models and data for human and ecological exposure assessments and risk assessments; chemical transport and transformation in the environment; and the health and environmental impacts of energy, industrial, and agricultural systems. Dr. McKone is active in other research, regulatory, and professional organizations. He has been a member of several National Academy of Sciences Committees and served six years on the EPA Science Advisory Board. He is past-president of the International Society of Exposure Analysis (ISEA) and served as a member of advisory committees for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the World Health Organization, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the Food and Agriculture Organization. Dr. McKone received his M.S. and Ph.D. in engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles.
