Stéphane joined Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in 2003, after working 3 years at the International Energy Agency in Paris. Stéphane’s main contributions have been in improving scientific understanding of end-use energy consumption in developing countries, CO2 emissions accounting, modeling future energy growth and conducting cost-benefit analysis. Stéphane has leaded the authorship of several LBNL scientific reports and she has works with researchers and government representatives from across the world including India, South Africa, Benin, and China. Her current research interest is focused on identifying energy efficiency policies best practices and developing tools and analyses that help policy makers and implementers to assess the cost and benefits of program implementation.

Stéphane received a DEA (equivalent to a Masters) in Economics from the University Paris Dauphine. She was a contributing author to Working Group III Report "Mitigation of Climate Change" of the Fifth IPCC Assessment Report and the Fourth IPCC Assessment Report which shares the Nobel prize with Al Gore in 2008.
