Dr. Qi Zhang is a visiting scholar in the Energy Technologies Area of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and he is an associate professor of Thermal Energy Engineering from Northeastern University, and a research fellow of State Environmental Protection Key Laboratory of Eco-industry in China.
Dr. Qi Zhang received his PH.D in Thermal Engineering at Northeastern University in 2008 and completed the postdoctoral research in metallurgic engineering in 2012. His research focuses on process integration, industrial energy efficiency, energy system optimization, carbon emissions reduction, and advanced energy-saving technologies in metallurgical process.
He has engaged in over national, provincial and corporate projects, published forty research papers, three books, and been awarded three software patents. He also teaches courses in energy utilization and systemic engineering, thermal energy, and power engineering of power plant.
