Nihar Shah, a Senior Scientific Engineering Associate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) leads LBNL's research on low-GWP refrigerants and energy efficiency for HVAC&R equipment and product-specific techno-economic analysis efforts in support of the Super-efficient Equipment and Appliance Deployment (SEAD) Initiative, including analyses on Room ACs, Ceiling Fans, TVs, PC Monitors and Refrigerators.
Nihar's other research interests include demand response, standardization and interoperability, advanced manufacturing and water policy and technology.

Prior to joining LBNL, Nihar worked on water and energy utility regulation at the California Public Utilities Commission. He received a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and is a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer in California.
