Nihar Shah, a Senior Scientific Engineering Associate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) leads LBNL’s product-specific techno-economic analysis efforts in support of the Super-efficient Equipment and Appliance Deployment (SEAD) Initiative, including analyses on Room ACs, Ceiling Fans, TVs, PC Monitors and Refrigerators.
Nihar's other research interests include alternate low-GWP refrigerants, demand response, standardization and interoperability, and advanced manufacturing.
Prior to joining LBNL, Nihar worked on water and energy utility regulation at the California Public Utilities Commission. He received a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and is a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer in California.
