Nihan Karali is a postdoctoral researcher at the IES at LBNL, working on a project that focuses on sectoral production, trading, energy consumption, and emissions dynamics. The purpose of the project is the development and implementation of a global, industry sector specified, bottom-up energy-modeling framework with an agenda of analyzing international trading and energy consumptions (related emissions and costs) in energy intensive sectors such as iron&steel and cement. Her interest areas are Energy and Environmental Policy Modeling, Optimization Modeling, Statistical Analysis, and Energy Policy and Planning, and Industry Sector Energy and Trade Modeling. She has her PhD from the Industrial Engineering Department of Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey.
