John Steinberg has become a forceful advocate for putting consumer value at the center of the smart grid. John has been a featured speaker at numerous cleantech and Silicon Valley industry events, including GigaOM's Smart Grid Forum, the Behavior Energy and Climate Change Conference, Greentech Media's The Networked Grid, the Churchill Club, and MIT/Stanford VLab. Prior to founding EcoFactor in 2006, John was Director of Corporate Business Development for Electronics for Imaging (Nasdaq: EFII). He was also founder and President of Bebop Incorporated, and co-founded Involved Professionals Against Cancer. John has been issued 15 US patents covering innovations in energy management as well as such diverse fields as digital photography, networked printing, and various mechanical devices. He has served on the Board of Directors of Long Beach Youth Centers and the Board of Advisors of the Tech Coast Venture Network.
