Jaimie Levin has been with AC Transit since 1998, and began developing alternative fuels policy for the District in 1999. In July 2011, the AC Transit Board of Directors established a new position for Mr. Levin as the District’s Director of Environmental Technology. He is responsible for a range of program activities, including alternative fuels development, environmental policy, and renewable and sustainable program initiatives. He is the program manager for the development of the District’s hydrogen fuel cell hybrid bus program, which is now valued at more than $86 million and is one of the largest demonstration projects of its type in the world. Mr. Levin holds a Masters of City Planning degree (MCP) from the University of California at Berkeley, with a focus on land use, transportation, and energy. He sits on the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Association’s Policy Committee, and he is AC Transit’s representative to the California Fuel Cell Partnership, of which the District is an associate member. Mr. Levin is also a member of the Advisory Board of UC Berkeley’s Transportation Sustainability Research Center.
