Dr. Igor Paprotny is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Illinois, Chicago, and an Affiliated Scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, CA. He is the lead of the UIC/LBNL/UCB/EPA Air-Microfluidics group. Prior to his position at UIC, Dr. Paprotny was a post-doc and later a Research Scientist and Lecturer at UC Berkeley. His research interests include the applications of MEMS technologies to distributed microsensors for electric power systems, air microfluidics for environmental monitoring, and microrobotics. Dr. Paprotny holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Dartmouth College, BS and MS degrees in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University, and an Engineering Diploma in Mechatronics from the NKI College of Engineering in Oslo, Norway.
