Harlan Coomes' experience in the energy industry encompasses over 29 years, working in the Energy Supply, Customer, and Grid Assets business units at SMUD. He has international experience in Ukraine, Russia, and Jordan working with energy efficiency planning and projects. His work includes commercial nuclear power station operations, energy efficiency and demand side management program planning and implementation, green energy program planning and operation, and supervision.
Harlan has many years experience leading the development and delivery of innovative energy-related programs and services. His current projects include development of SMUD demand response planning and policy; overseeing the implementation of Automated Demand Response (AutoDR) capability with SMUD's SmartSacramento Partners; and implementing the SMUD PowerDirect® AutoDR demand response pilot program for 2013.
