Guanyi Chen is a professor with the Department of Built Environment and Equipment, School of Environmental Science and Technology, Tianjin University, with interests in Bio-Energy and Energy Efficiency in Buildings. He received PhD degree in Engineering Sciences at Zhejiang University in 1998. He previously worked in The University of Hong Kong, and was a Senior Research Fellow in Department of Process and Energy, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Marine Technology, Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands for 3.5 years. He is the Executive member of China Renewable Energy Association, Executive member of China Biomass Technology Development Centre, Member of China Urban Environment and Sanitation, Member of ISES, and Evaluators of several Chinese S&T Research Programs. His research is focusing on the improvement of Biomass-to-energy Conversion Efficiency and its Environmental Behavior, as well as Energy Performance in Building Sectors through the research and technological process development.
