Dave Sopchak earned his PhD in electrochemistry at Case Western Reserve University under Barry Miller in 2000. He has worked on fuel cells for over 10 years, at Dais-Analytic, Lawrence Livermore National Lab, helped start and was Chief Scientist at UltraCell Corporation in Livermore, manufacturer of the first commercial portable reformed methanol fuel cell. He is currently Director of New Product Development at Porifera, Inc, working on novel reverse and forward osmosis membranes and an adjunct professor at San Jose State University.
