Dr. Li is a professor in and the dean of the School of Urban Construction and Environmental Engineering at Chongqing University (China). He is also vice director of the China Green Building Council. He is the founder and director of the Key Laboratory of the Three Gorges Reservoir Region’s Eco-Environment under China's Ministry of Education (MOE), and director of National Centre for International Research on Low Carbon and Green Building under China's Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST).
Dr. Li has over 25 years’ experience in teaching, research and design related to the built environment, specializing in building energy, indoor climate, low carbon and renewable energy. He obtained his MS in Building Services Engineering from Chongqing University and his Ph.D. in Construction Management and Engineering from the School of Construction Management & Engineering at the University of Reading (UK). Prior to working in China he was a post-doctoral researcher and then a Research Fellow at Loughborough University (UK).
Dr. Li has authored and co-authored 7 books, over 200 technical papers, and 6 Chinese national standards and design guides. He also holds more than 10 Chinese patents.
