Anna Liao is a Scientific Engineering Associate in the Electronics, Lighting and Networks Group. Her background is in electronics, device characterization, software development, embedded systems, and networking. Her current research involves improving energy monitoring in residential and commercial buildings, developing systems for real-time sensing and control of loads over the internet, and building systems for networked data collection in residential and commercial building field studies.

Prior to LBNL, Anna worked at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA, as a Microdevices Engineer. At JPL, she was involved in design, fabrication, and characterization of micro and nano devices for planetary exploration and infrared detection technology.

Anna has a M.S. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California at Berkeley.
