The New Apollo Program: Clean Energy, Good Jobs

Speaker(s):
Date:
December 18, 2008 (All day)
Location:
90-3122

The Apollo Alliance is a coalition of cleantech businesses, labor, environmental, and community leaders working to catalyze a clean energy revolution in America to reduce the nation's dependence on foreign oil, cut carbon emissions, and expand opportunities for American businesses and workers. In September, the Apollo Alliance released a comprehensive economic investment strategy to build America's 21st century clean energy economy and dramatically cut energy bills for families and businesses. The New Apollo Program would generate and invest $500 billion over the next ten years and create five million high quality green-collar jobs and transform America into the global leader of the new green economy. Carla will talk about the Apollo Alliance's program and touch upon the effects of the recent presidential election on the program's development.
