In this talk, Jonathan Koomey, Staff Scientist and Group Leader in the End-use Forecasting Group, will summarize key "tricks of the trade" summarized in his new book "Turning Numbers into Knowledge: Mastering the Art of Problem Solving".    The book focuses on many lessons relevant to working effectively in the research world, including being prepared, creating appropriate documentation, doing back of the envelope calculations, and making good tables and graphs.
