The transformation of the global energy sector is attracting the financial backing of venture capital firms around the world.  Where R&D dollars provide important seed capital for energy technology start-ups, venture capital is increasingly providing expansion capital for new companies in the energy sector.   The result is a dramatic increase of private capital flows supporting an emerging generation of entrepreneurs.
