The 40th anniversary of the founding of the Environmental Energy Technologies Division at Berkeley Lab is November 1, 2013.
Some Thursdays in November, we’ll look back at a significant energy-efficient technology developed by EETD and its research partners.
For more than a decade, EETD has worked with the data center industry, other research organizations, and government agencies to find and implement solutions to the rapid increase in energy used to run data centers. In 2000, U.S. data center used less than 0.12 percent of the nation's energy. By 2010, that figure had grown to two percent.
