Berkeley Lab has recently expanded its collaboration with
the Alliance
to Save Energy to include the Industrial Partnership activities.
Vestal Tutterow, who spent seven years with Berkeley Lab working
with Industry Partnerships, with a particular focus on pumping
systems, is now at the Alliance and continuing this work. The
Alliance also continues to provide support to the US DOE BestPractices
Steam activities. |
Through this collaboration, Berkeley Lab and the Alliance will
explore new ways to enrich Industrial Partnerships and other existing
programs at US DOE, Berkeley Lab, and the Alliance. For example,
providing adequate and safe supplies of water to a growing global
population is becoming increasingly difficult and is energy intensive.
Watergy
is an Alliance water and energy efficiency program (funded by the
US Agency for International Development), created to address this
situation. The Lab and the Alliance are seeking ways to link this
activity with the Lab’s ongoing partnership with the pumping
industry as well as with Berkeley Lab’s Water-Energy Technology
Team (WETT), which includes a broad range of expertise in water
use and re-use, water resources, water quality, and other areas.
