Electricity Markets and Policy > Staff > Michael Stadler Michael Stadler joined the Electricity Markets and Policy Group in September 2005 as part of the Distributed Energy Resource (DER) team. He is enhancing the simulation tool EnergyPlus in order for it to simulate Distributed Generation (DG). Prior to September 2005, he worked with the Energy Economics Group at the Vienna University of Technology. His major fields of research are Electricity Markets, Deregulation, Integration of Renewable Energy Sources into the Grid, and Demand Response Programs as well as the Software Design in these fields. During his time with the Energy Economics Group, he was responsible for the software design of the simulation tool Invert for the European Commission and the enhancement of the tool for the German Federal Ministry of Environment. He holds a Masters degree in electrical engineering (Power Engineering and Electrical Drives) and a PhD in Energy Economics from the Vienna University of Technology.
