Ben Hoen is a Principal Research Associate in the Electricity Markets and Policy Group at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His primary responsibilities include investigating individual and community responses to a number of different renewable energy sources and assisting in the preparation of the Annual Wind Technologies Report. Ben has conducted a nationwide analysis of the impact of wind facilities on local property values and separately an analysis of solar energy system's effects on home transaction prices in CA. He is a graduate of the Bard Center for Environmental Policy at Bard College with a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Policy. Previous to graduate school he worked in the paper recycling industry in Baltimore, and set up and ran his own business in Brooklyn, NY. He holds Bachelors degrees in Finance and General Business from University of Maryland.
