This actually is a beautiful rock on a small hill in the middle of San Francisco. |
I'm a professor at the HfbK Hamburg and I teach in the Section of Building Science within the Department of Architecture. Lecture and seminar topics are, i.e.:
My major research areas are:
Working in unknown surroundings makes one aware of different concepts and (if you're lucky) it encourages creativity. That is one (out of more good) reasons why for the year of 1996, I am associated to the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, University of California, as a guest scientist. I worked for the Building Energy Measurement and Performance Analysis within the Energy Analysis Department of the Environmental Energy Technology Division.
For LBL, I work on a project for the International Energy Agency (organized as an IEA-BCS Working Group) called "Indicators of Energy Efficiency in Cold-Climate Buildings" with Alan Meier (who would be the best person to contact in case you have questions or suggestions about this project because he is Principal Investigator) and Brian Pon (who helped me with this web page!).
One of my very recent discoveries in the US was the Society of Building Science Educators (SBSE), an international network which I recently joined.
